Fuzzy Things are Swell

This weekend was just gangbusters for snuggly fuzzy things. Molly, Lindsey, and I took a road trip to the Great Lakes Fiber Show in Wooster, Ohio. We had a blast! It was definitely a big day. Here is Molly taking a knit break and Ginny taking a smoke break:And here is Lindsey picking out a yarn baby to take home (she is on the left) with Eli (on the right):There were at least six barns of vendors and about three barns of sheep, two or three pens of alpacas, and some bunnies. Here are some of the stand out characters:Check out the straw hanging out of this kid's mouth. He's so cool he doesn't even care...he doesn't even have to!and this dude was so handsome......I had to get a profile shot...This is the Briar Rose Fibers booth, or as I like to call it (and I think this photo will back me up) yarn heaven. Their yarn is amazing and the hanks are huge. This is my yarn baby. 1200 yards of pure, DK, superwash, merino love. I've been letting it sleep in the bed with Lovey and me. I know, it's not great parenting, but I just love it so much. This Casbah is also amazing. One of the local yarn stores had a both full of Handmaiden Yarn. We can't find it in Columbus so I snapped some up. The teapot was a bonus from the antique store we went to after a delicious Greek lunch. Basically a perfect girls day out. I know, it's kind of funny for three twenty somethings to drive an hour to a yarn festival and then go antiquing, be home by five p.m. and call it a fabulous day...but it really was. Monday continued the fun at Cath's house where I met the rock star of fuzzy thing, Mr. Poo. He is a pile of warm snuggly cat. And then tonight, as if all this fuzzy wasn't enough, I heard some rustling in the recycling bin. I thought it was one of the neighborhood cats...Baby, bitty 'possum. I wanted to bring him in and name him Peaches, but Lovey said no. Something about disease and potential rabies and me being too blinded by cute to make decisions for myself? I don't know, I couldn't hear him over the sound of the adorableness.

Holy crap! I'm famous!

This post made me feel all warm and snuggly inside. It's kind of like that feeling I get when I look through a telescopic zoom into your- uh, regardless, like that only less illegal.

I love fiber fests! And having a friend along is even better. I go to at least two a year. I don't buy much anymore, but I still have a great time.

You really don't want a possum. They bite, you can't housebreak them and they are short lived. I don't like to think of you crying over one.
