How fitting that December 1st would bring the first snow of the year. Ellie thought snow was something you could sniff and was disappointed, I think, when it was cold and not very smelly.
We have been decorating and decorating to get the house to the level of Christmas cheer appropriate for a first Christmas in a new home. This meant new stocking for the animals.
I made a classic green and red stripe stocking for Ellie. I still have to line it with fabric before it can go up on the mantle.
Ronan already had a stocking but it was meant to match Chloe's stocking. It didn't feel right putting up one without the other. So I knit her a new one that is unique. Somehow it ended up huge! I don't really check gauge on these types of projects...but something serious happened. I am going to wash it before I line it and see if that helps at all.
Although I don't think she would mind an over large stocking as it might mean extra toys and treats. She has staked out this soft and cozy spot on the tree skirt and seems pretty content to avoid all the holiday craziness. Although she did sit in may lap last night and watch the Grinch and Shrek Christmas specials. It really doesn't get any better than that.
